Our mission is to celebrate and preserve the rich heritage of our Gullah Geechee culture by fostering a vibrant artisans market collective and fresh produce market. We are committed to empowering our local artisans and farmers, providing access to culturally significant goods, and creating a sustainable hub for community connection, education, and economic growth. Through honoring our ancestral traditions and promoting wellness, we have cultivated a space that nourishes the body, mind, and spirit while uplifting the legacy of the Gullah Geechee people.
The Hogg Hummock Artisan Market is a program of the Mystic Roots Foundation. We have recently raised funds to renovate a 105 year old store and transformed it into an herbal apothecary and community artisan market that features fresh local herbs, handcrafted herbal products, sweetgrass baskets, canvas bags, t-shirts, books, art and crafts, and more, all made by local artisan's of the Historic Hogg Hummock Community and surrounding areas.
