Seven Sisters transforms ancestral land into a self-reinforcing district that is culturally grounded, economically vibrant, and ecologically regenerative.

Seven Sisters Heritage District will consist of:

✨ Hogg Hummock Artisan Market - Originally built in 1920 as Mr. Hall’s General Store, the historic building was restored and reopened after more than 55 years of inactivity as the Hogg Hummock Artisan Market. The Hogg Hummock Artisan Market est in 2025 is a cooperative economics program of the Mystic Roots Foundation where residents and visitors can directly support local artisans, growers, and makers. 

🌿 Seven Sisters Production Farm - The Seven Sisters Production Farm will be a one-acre regenerative farm on Sapelo Island designed to advance food sovereignty through sustainable agriculture, Afro-ecology, and ancestral land-based practices. The farm will produce fresh food and medicinal plants while serving as a living demonstration site for agricultural education, eco-tourism, and climate-resilient land stewardship.

✨ The Hogg Hummock Cultural Heritage Center will provide a much-needed gathering place for the community, featuring a wellness wing, commercial kitchen, and business center.

🌺 Mystic Roots Health & Wellness Sanctuary (Binto’s Sanctuary) — a tranquil retreat space that will be dedicated to rest, reflection, and sacred balance through yoga, meditation, herbal therapies, and sound healing.

🏡 The Seven Sisters Cottages — eco-inspired guest accommodations that will reflect the enduring spirit of the Seven Sisters, offering visitors a serene stay surrounded by the sounds of nature and whispers of history.

🌾 Madina’s Barndominium & Edible Landscape — a working homestead that will celebrate self-sufficiency, sustainability, and the island’s tradition of food sovereignty, with fruit trees, medicinal herbs, and heritage crops thriving throughout the grounds.
